SoftBank Is Among Bidders for Blackstone’s Japanese Payment Firm

SoftBank Group Corp. is among the group of investors bidding for Blackstone Inc.’s Japanese payment processing business, the company said.

The transaction involves Blackstone’s 99.5% stake in NetBank Inc., a subsidiary of Japan Net Bank Ltd. The sale is expected to be completed by the end of the fiscal year.

SoftBank, along with other bidders, is evaluating the acquisition as part of its strategy to expand its financial services portfolio. The specific terms of the deal, including the final purchase price, have not been disclosed.
