Canadian Labor Productivity Slumps as Construction and Agriculture Sectors Struggle

VICTORIA, B.C. – Canada’s labor productivity has experienced a decline, weighed down by sluggish performance in the construction and agricultural industries. This downturn occurred even as the housing market showed signs of activity, with new residential building starts climbing to 279,200 in September, up from 244,500 in the previous month, according to data from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
