The Interview

Title: The Interview

Episode Details: World Service, 03 Apr 2026, 22 mins

Headline: Jeremy Hansen, Astronaut: Moon Mission Highlights the Best of Humanity

Available for over a year.

ā€œI hope humanity will stop for a moment when four humans are on the far side of the moon and be reminded that we can do a better job as humans of just lifting each other up. Not destroying, but creating together.ā€

Rebecca Morelle and Tim Peake sit down with Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen in advance of the Artemis II launch. Hansen is part of the four-person crew for NASA’s newest space mission. Launching from Florida’s Kennedy Space Centre, Artemis II will travel to the Moon, orbit the satellite, and then return to Earth. While the crew will not touch down on the lunar surface, this marks the first time humans have journeyed to the Moon in more than fifty years.

A successful mission will achieve several historic milestones: Hansen will be the first non-American to depart low-Earth orbit. His crewmates will also make history, with Christina Koch becoming the first woman and Victor Glover the first person of colour to undertake such a journey.
