Formula 1 to race in Las Vegas until at least 2037
Las Vegas Secures Formula 1 Grand Prix Through 2037
Formula 1 has officially extended its partnership with Las Vegas, locking in races at the city until at least 2037. This ten-year extension marks the conclusion of a four-decade-long effort to establish a Grand Prix that features the iconic Strip, a goal finally realized in 2023.
To ensure the event's viability, F1 demonstrated significant financial commitment by investing $500 million to purchase land in the heart of Las Vegas. The company utilized this site to construct a dedicated pit building and paddock facility.
Stefano Domenicali, F1’s president and chief executive, expressed enthusiasm about the long-term future of the partnership. "We are thrilled that Formula 1 will continue racing in Las Vegas for many years to come," Domenicali stated. He added, "We always believed that Las Vegas would become a cornerstone of our presence in the United States, and this extension, together with the success of recent years, reinforces our long-term commitment to this important market."
F1’s willingness to invest its own capital was instrumental in securing the city's backing and permission to utilize the Strip, running past famous casino hotels. The initiative has transformed what was previously the city’s least profitable weekend of the year—the period preceding Thanksgiving—into one of its most financially rewarding.
According to a statement from F1, the Grand Prix has generated a cumulative economic impact of $3.2 billion (ÂŁ2.4 billion) for Las Vegas since its debut in 2023. The 2025 race alone contributed $43 million ($32 million) in tax revenue to the city.
Steve Hill, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, highlighted the significance of the renewed agreement. "Extending our partnership with Formula 1 for the next decade is a major moment for both Las Vegas and the grand prix," Hill said. He noted that within just three years, the race has evolved into a signature global event, placing Las Vegas at the center of culture, competition, and entertainment. "As the spotlight of the world turns to Las Vegas, the event continues to reinforce our evolution as a premier sports and entertainment destination."
