Braille to Text Translation for Bengali Language: A Geometric Approach
Title: Translating Bengali Braille into Text: A Geometric Methodology
Abstract: For individuals with visual impairments, Braille serves as the primary medium for both reading and writing. However, because the general public cannot read Braille, educators and family members often struggle to provide necessary support during the learning process. While software solutions for this translation exist for nearly every major language, such tools are currently lacking for the Bengali language. To address this gap, we introduce a Braille-to-Text Translator that converts images of tactile alphabets into standard text. This system is designed to overcome key obstacles, including image degradation, page rotation during scanning, and the deformation of Braille dots. By employing specialized image processing techniques and geometric structure analysis, the method effectively mitigates these challenges, achieving a character recognition accuracy of 97.25%.
