Title: Improving French Parsing via Syntactic Lexicon-Based Word Clustering
Abstract: This study assesses the incorporation of data derived from the French syntactic lexicon, known as Lexicon-Grammar (Gross, 1994), into a probabilistic parsing framework. We demonstrate that employing clustering techniques on the verbs of the French Treebank (Abeillé et al., 2003) yields high accuracy for French parsing when using a system based on a Probabilistic Context-Free Grammar (Petrov et al., 2006).
