Approximating Probabilistic Inference in Statistical EL with Knowledge Graph Embeddings
Title: Leveraging Knowledge Graph Embeddings for Efficient Probabilistic Inference in Statistical EL
Abstract: While statistical data is pervasive, deriving reliable insights from it remains a computationally daunting task. This paper demonstrates how knowledge graph embeddings can facilitate efficient approximations of probabilistic inference, specifically within the context of Statistical EL (SEL), a statistical variant of the lightweight Description Logic EL. We establish theoretical proofs concerning runtime complexity and soundness, and we present an empirical assessment of our method’s performance, focusing on both computational speed and the fidelity of the approximations.
