Lovable signs multi-year deal with Google Cloud to up usage 5x, source says

Title: Lovable Enters Multi-Year Google Cloud Pact to Quintuple Usage, Report Indicates

Lovable and Google Cloud formalized an expanded multi-year partnership on Wednesday. Although Stockholm-based Lovable has previously utilized Google Cloud services, the new agreement significantly scales their operational footprint. While specific financial terms remain undisclosed, an insider familiar with the arrangement informed TechCrunch that the deal entails a fivefold increase in Lovable’s usage of Google Cloud resources, with a notable emphasis on artificial intelligence workloads.

Under the terms of the agreement, Lovable will secure broader access to Anthropic’s Claude model, which is frequently employed for coding, as well as Google’s proprietary Gemini models. The inclusion of Anthropic’s technology is particularly significant given the strategic financial ties between Google and the AI startup. In April, Google committed $10 billion to Anthropic in cash and compute credits, with a further $30 billion contingent upon the achievement of specific performance metrics. This investment occurred at a $350 billion valuation, merely a month prior to Anthropic’s $65 billion funding round, which valued the company at nearly $1 trillion. By expanding Lovable’s usage, the deal provides a substantial boost that could assist Anthropic in meeting these performance thresholds.

Lovable’s growth trajectory is steep; the company reported crossing $400 million in annualized revenue in February. This milestone was achieved after adding $100 million in revenue within a single month, driven by a lean team of just 146 employees. Furthermore, Lovable asserts that over 50% of Fortune 500 companies utilize its product in some capacity.

Beyond AI model access, the partnership integrates Lovable into other segments of Google’s infrastructure. Lovable’s new agent will be distributed via Google Cloud’s enterprise agent marketplace, known as the Gemini Enterprise Agent Gallery. This channel was first hinted at during Google’s major U.S. cloud conference in April. Additionally, to enhance security for code generated by both human developers and AI agents, Lovable will integrate with Wiz. Wiz, Google’s largest acquisition to date at $32 billion, officially closed in March, a year after the initial announcement. This integration enables Wiz to detect and resolve security vulnerabilities in real time.

Google aims to streamline enterprise procurement and billing processes by offering Lovable’s agents through its marketplace, a move designed to facilitate the acquisition of more corporate clients. For Google, the strategic logic is clear: fostering the growth of both Lovable and Anthropic by attracting wealthy enterprise clients generates revenue that supports the company’s planned capital expenditures of $180 billion to $190 billion for the current year. Google is currently raising a record-breaking $85 billion in equity to fund part of this spending, leaving approximately $100 billion remaining to be secured.
