TikTok launches TikTok Pro Events, an app for cultural moments like the FIFA World Cup

TikTok Introduces TikTok Pro Events App for Major Cultural Gatherings Like the FIFA World Cup

On Wednesday, TikTok revealed the launch of TikTok Pro Events, a dedicated application in the United States designed to highlight significant cultural occurrences, including the forthcoming FIFA World Cup. This standalone platform enables users to interact with fellow enthusiasts, browse viral content, and view curated feeds from top creators.

The app introduces a gamified element for users aged 18 and older, who can accumulate “Stars” by participating in fan-centric tasks. Activities such as searching for popular hashtags, visiting the FIFA World Cup hub, and sharing posts contribute to earning these stars. These points can be exchanged for exclusive perks via an in-app redemption store, which offers official FIFA World Cup merchandise, discounts on TikTok Shop, or the chance to direct TikTok-funded charitable contributions to Feeding America through a specific partnership.

By creating a separate application for major global events rather than relying solely on its primary platform, TikTok aims to capture user attention in a crowded market. This strategy also provides creators and advertisers with access to a highly targeted demographic. Furthermore, the initiative establishes fresh revenue channels for TikTok’s new ownership through sponsorships, strategic partnerships, advertising, and creator-led marketing efforts.

For those who prefer not to download a separate application, TikTok notes that FIFA World Cup 2026 hubs remain accessible within the main app by searching “FIFA World Cup.” These hubs are driven by TikTok GamePlan, a collection of tools aimed at helping sports organizations, leagues, and broadcasters enhance visibility and strengthen fan engagement. This central location allows users to find tournament content, follow creators, and watch highlights from official broadcasters.

TikTok Pro Events is currently available for download in the U.S. through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. This release marks another phase in the company’s evolution from a social entertainment platform to a broader utility. Recently, TikTok introduced TikTok GO, allowing users to book hotels, attractions, and experiences directly within the app. By facilitating transactions based on viral travel recommendations rather than redirecting users to external sites, TikTok is establishing itself as an integrated destination for both discovery and booking, thereby boosting user retention and generating additional income.
