Title: HighTide: An Open-Source VLSI Benchmark Suite Curated by Agents

Abstract: This paper presents HighTide, a continuously developing benchmark suite powered by artificial intelligence. Our primary contributions include: (i) a comprehensive, open-source collection featuring a wide variety of design languages and technology nodes; (ii) a Bazel-driven approach to incremental RTL-to-GDS compilation that incorporates remote caching capabilities; (iii) an AI-guided curation process utilizing twelve distinct agent skills. These skills address the entire design lifecycle, flow optimization, tool references, and meta-maintenance, supported by decision logs for each design that function as long-term memory for tuning rationale throughout the suite; and (iv) a robust infrastructure ensuring RTL compilation verification for stable releases. Intended to expand alongside the open-source hardware community, HighTide is made publicly available.
